Mark Reeves provides private tuition in piano and electronic keyboard playing, including reading music notation and chord symbols, combined with music theory, in classical, jazz and pop styles to beginners and more advanced students (e.g. Grade 8), for children and adults.
You can have piano lessons or electronic keyboard lessons in the comfort of your own home (in the Horsham area) or in Mark Reeves' own private studio in Horsham.
Children from the age of 6 and adults of any age can learn to play the piano or electronic keyboard just for fun or for serious study. You can also be entered for piano and keyboard exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), Trinity Guildhall or RockSchool (RSL Awards).
Piano lessons can be arranged for mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends to fit around school times, work hours or other activities.
Naturally, there will need to be a suitable piano or electronic keyboard at home on which to practise, but if you haven't yet acquired one, Mark will be happy to offer you his advice.
Towards the end of each year Mark organises a concert in aid of the BBC Children in Need Appeal, where all his piano and electronic keyboard students are invited to perform a piece of music to their family and friends.
Mark holds a current DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service) - previously known as CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) and has £10 million public liability insurance. He is also a member of The Musicians' Union and a member of The National Association of Music Teaching Professionals (MMA).
Since 2007 Mark Reeves has organised annual charity fund-raising concerts at which his piano and electronic keyboard students perform one or two pieces of music to an audience of family and friends.
A few weeks before the date of the concert, each student is given an official sponsorship form. This gives the student a sense of personal involvement in the act of raising money for a good cause.
After the concert, food and drinks are provided for a small donation to charity. A raffle with music-themed prizes then takes place and brings the event to a close.
The students' performances are recorded digitally and then transferred to an audio CD, proceeds from which are added to the accumulated total of raised funds.
Reviews and photos of each concert can be accessed from the Main Menu (password required).
