Like the sketch 'Adrian (original sketch)', this image was drawn very quickly, then transferred to another sheet of paper to be painted. As newsprint paper is very thin, it was possible to trace the original drawing directly by laying a fresh piece of paper on top.
Unfortunately, newsprint becomes brittle and darkens over a period of time, hence the 'beige' tone of the background in these images.
