Wax crayon and watercolour on paper
583mm x 292mm

The technique of combining wax crayon and watercolour to achieve a kind of 'cloisonné' effect was used extensively in the paintings of this period.

This was mainly due to the influence of John Tunnicliffe, Art Master of Collyer's Sixth Form College in Horsham, West Sussex. Unfortunately, most of the paintings were retained by the college and therefore not available to be shown on this Web site.

There are however various sketches from this period included in this same section.
