35mm print
Lens flare is often avoided in photography, but here it is used to emphasise the intensity of light projected as the sun bursts into view.

Boat in the Sunset - 1998
35mm transparency
As with ‘Sunset by the Pool’, this photograph was recoloured using computer image editing software.

Las Vegas Window Cleaners - 1997

Bewl Water - 1998
35mm print
Although this photograph was taken late in the day, a ‘gradual tobacco’ filter was used to emphasise the effect of the sun going down.

Sailing at Sunset - 1998
35mm transparency
Digitally enhanced to emphasise the rich colours of the sunset.

HMS Victory - 1998

The Carfax in Horsham, West Sussex, occasionally hosts a funfair. On this particular evening it was raining, but it didn't put people off from joining in the fun of the fair. In fact, if it wasn't for the wet weather this photograph wouldn't have been taken.
