Hayward Gallery - 1982
Liquitex on canvas 916mm x 1218mm

One of a series of four paintings originating from photographs of London’s South Bank Complex.

Although entitled ‘Hayward Gallery’, this particular view is dominated by the concrete walkways which surround the gallery, creating a spectacularly dynamic effect utilising extreme perspectives to lead the viewer’s eye into the depths of the composition.

The painting ‘South Bank, London’ was produced many years later but is in fact derived from the same series of original photographs taken in 1982 (see ‘Hayward Gallery 1’).
