This
photograph appeared in The
West Sussex County Times newspaper on 28th November
2008, along with a review of the concert:
"HORSHAM
piano teacher Mark Reeves presented a spectacular concert at Holy
Trinity Church Hall in Rushams Road, at which 23 of his piano
and keyboard students, aged from seven to 17, performed in a programme
of diverse musical styles to raise money for the BBC Children
in Need Appeal.
Lines & James letting agents of Horsham sponsored the beautiful
Yamaha grand piano that was hired for the event from Horsham Piano
Centre and a digital metronome worth £30 was donated as
one of the raffle prizes by Angelus Violins of Storrington. The
concert ran smoothly thanks to the help of Angela and Clive Jones
of Storrington.
The standard of playing was very high from all the students and
their music was enjoyed by an appreciative audience of friends
and family members who were generous in their support of the event.
The concert on November 12 was mentioned on the BBC Children in
Need TV programme on November 14. Money from the raffle, which
involved bursting balloons to reveal which prizes had been won,
a scratchcard to win Pudsey Bear and donations for food &
drinks combined with students' sponsorship money is expected to
exceed £500, beating the total raised from last year's concert.
In addition, a recording of the concert was made and all proceeds
from the sale of the CDs will also be donated to the charity,
adding around £150 to the total.
Another students' concert in aid of a children's charity will
take place next May and any local businesses wishing to sponsor
it can contact Mark Reeves via his Web site at: www.markreeves.co.uk"

The
following letter accompanied the receipt for our donation:
23
January 2009
Dear
Friend,
Thank you so much for your kind donation to The BBC Children
in Need Appeal 2008. Every year we are humbled by your generosity
and creativity in raising money for thousands of disadvantaged children
and young people across the UK who need your help. The money is
still pouring in and this year we are hoping to raise over £30
million. We hope that while you were 'Doing Something Different'
for BBC Children in Need you also had lots of fun!
If you'd like to find out more about how the money raised positively
changes lives, log onto bbc.co.uk/pudsey
where you will find lots of photos and stories of the children and
young people that you have helped. For every penny you donated,
a penny will go towards projects helping disadvantaged children
and young people in the UK. We are able to make this promise because
the charity uses its investment income to cover all operational
costs.
If you haven't already signed up to receive our annual fundraising
pack, don't forget to send us your address so we can post you one
next year. Similarly if you received a pack through the post this
year and would rather not receive one next year, you can let us
know by emailing Pudsey@bbc.co.uk
or by writing to us at the address on this letter.
Once again many thanks from the team and on behalf of all the children
we help to support. We are consistently amazed and delighted by
the extraordinary lengths our supporters go to. We just couldn't
continue our work without you!
Best wishes
